Miner Bob and his wife Elsa live in a lovely log cabin set in the sunny Californian gold fields. Their daily routine varies little so it can be modelled with a simple finite state machine (FSM).

Bob and Elsa each have their own state machine and the following diagrams show the various state transformations and this sketch shows them in action.
